Fujikura has capped another successful PGA Tour season with victory at the TOUR Championship, as VENTUS shafts helped the World No.1 secure a three-shot win at East Lake Golf Club.
The season-ending event in Atlanta brought together the top 30 players from the FedExCup standings, with Fujikura recording its 17th victory of the campaign.
The World No.1 entered the final round one shot off the lead before producing a closing 66 to secure his third PGA Tour victory of the season and the 22nd of his career.
Accuracy from the tee proved particularly important around East Lake. Measuring 7,440 yards and playing to a par of 70, the Atlanta course combined its length with tight fairways and demanding landing areas.
The champion produced an impressive display of control over the closing nine holes, repeatedly finding the fairway to create birdie opportunities and pull clear of the field.
Fujikura VENTUS Black shafts featured throughout the top of his bag. He played a VENTUS Black 7-X in his driver, an 8-X model in his 3-wood and VENTUS Black 9-X in his 7-wood.
Fujikura also finished the PGA Tour season strongly in terms of overall usage. Despite the reduced 30-player field at the TOUR Championship, the company was the number one driver and wood shaft brand in play, with 46.6% of competitors using Fujikura shafts in their drivers and 44% using them in their fairway woods.
Pat McCoy, Director of Tour Operations at Fujikura, said: “To finish the season with a victory at an event like this is a fantastic achievement and a great way to close out the campaign.
“This is the event where the very best players of the year come together, so the level of competition and the pressure on every shot is incredibly high. To see VENTUS trusted by the winner in those circumstances is hugely rewarding for everyone at Fujikura.
“The course demanded much more than simply finding the fairway. Players had to make the right decisions, shape shots with the longer clubs and carefully manage where they wanted to position the ball. That combination of accuracy, control and confidence is exactly where VENTUS is designed to perform.
“Finishing the season with a victory on this stage is a proud moment for Fujikura. Our congratulations go to the winner on a fantastic performance, and to all of the players who have competed at the highest level throughout the season.”
The Atlanta success formed part of another strong weekend for Fujikura, with the company and its VENTUS range also featuring in victories on the European-based Tour in Warwickshire and at the women’s event in Boston.
First introduced in 2019, VENTUS has developed into Fujikura’s best-selling shaft family and is available in White, Red, Blue and Black profiles to provide different launch characteristics.
Alongside its Tour presence, Fujikura continues to place custom fitting at the centre of its retail strategy, with its Charter Dealer network offering golfers access to VENTUS and the company’s wider range of performance shafts, including the AXIOM iron shaft series.
