TAYLORMADE’S NELLY KORDA WINS THIRD MAJOR

Nelly Korda delivered a commanding performance to secure her third major title at the Chevron Championship, reinforcing her position at the top of the women’s game and underlining the continued impact of elite-level product innovation.

The American opened with back-to-back rounds of 65 to take firm control of the tournament and maintained her advantage over the weekend with rounds of 70-70, eventually winning by five shots. The victory marks her second at the Chevron and is set to see her return to World No.1.

Korda’s dominance was built on precision from tee to green. She missed just one fairway in the final round and only 12 across the entire week, while averaging 262 yards off the tee. Her iron play proved equally decisive, hitting 16 of 18 greens in regulation on Sunday and missing just 13 greens throughout the tournament.

The result places her firmly in the history books. She becomes the first player in LPGA history to win multiple majors with a score of 18-under-par or better, and only the third in the last 50 years to win a major wire-to-wire while leading by multiple shots after every round. It also marks the first time since 2000 that an American has reached three LPGA major victories, and the first wire-to-wire major win by five shots or more since 2011.

From an equipment perspective, the win highlights the growing influence of TaylorMade’s latest technology at the elite level, with Korda’s move into the Qi4D driver proving a key development.

“Immediately when I put this thing in the bag I loved it. It’s doing exactly what I want… having it under pressure on the golf course is what’s most important.”

The switch followed extensive testing, with a particular focus on achieving a driver profile that combined speed with control. Early sessions delivered an immediate increase in ball speed, with gains of around 3mph recorded within a limited number of swings, while further refinement continued to build on those numbers.

“The most important thing is the comfort I have over the ball when I look down at the driver,” Korda added. “After that, it’s just if it performs the way I want to.”

The driver was paired with a Graphite Design Tour AD FI 6-S shaft, selected through TaylorMade’s data-led fitting system to complement her delivery and enhance both launch conditions and shot shape control.

Korda also benefitted from a ball change, moving into the TP5x following testing late in 2025. The adjustment was driven by a need for increased spin and peak height with her irons, particularly into firm major championship greens.

“The new TP5x is a game changer for her,” said Senior Tour Manager Ryan Ressa. “She was playing more aggressively and felt like she could attack pins more freely.”

That added control translated directly into strategy. With improved stopping power and consistency, Korda was able to take on more aggressive lines throughout the week, a factor that proved decisive in building and maintaining her lead.

Her iron setup, featuring a blended set of P·770 irons and P·7CB irons, further supported that approach by delivering the trajectory and control required for major championship conditions.

“I need a little bit more height when it comes to my irons because when we play major championship golf courses the greens tend to get firmer and faster,” she said.

For retailers, Korda’s victory provides a clear example of how tour validation continues to influence consumer demand. With performance gains evident across driver, ball and iron categories, the success of fully integrated equipment setups remains a compelling story at both elite and club level.
