Pask joins Golf Consultants Association

Michael Pask is the latest recruit to add his experience and expertise to the Golf Consultants Association (GCA).

The former senior vice-president of WME IMG Golf is a well-respected figure in the golf business world and brings more than a quarter of a century’s worth of knowledge to the association.

Pask has a First Class degree in Geology and a Blue from St Andrews and successfully completed a year-long cycling expedition along the Andes and a follow up lecture tour including three presentations at the Royal Geographic Society during a two year break from IMG.

He sits on the Sport Relief Steering Committee, The GEO Advisory Council and the Make-A-Wish Corporate Alliance Committee. But, during his time with IMG, he has worked in event planning, organisation and implementation, and has turned around the international academy business from a loss-making enterprise to a highly successful global operation.

In helping to create the golf advisory business he delivered knowledge and skills to a global list of clients including HSBC, French and Italian Ryder Cup bids (both successful) as well as a host of other digital, corporate and development clients.

He also helped grow European Golf Design (EGD) to be considered among the most successful golf course design businesses in EMEA with more than 50 courses. As head of the sports leisure tourism group he was responsible for the development of opportunities in stadiums as well as tourism, event strategies and growth of the golf course operations business.

Pask also has huge experience in dealing with some of sport’s biggest names after managing the careers of a number of significant Olympic athletes including Sir Steve Redgrave, Michael Johnson, Ian Thorpe and Katherine Grainger.

He said: “I am pleased to be supporting the GCA as they look to expand their network around the world. The expertise derived from being part of this broader group is fantastic and I am looking forward to learning more from friends while sharing some of my own knowledge and experiences.”

The GCA, formed in 1999, is unique in the UK in its ability to make available a team of highly-respected and experienced golf industry professionals to see any phase of a project through from conception to end. www.golfconsultants.co.uk
