Sunderland of Scotland has unveiled their new rain wear collection for 2014.
New this season is the introduction of the new ‘Vancouver’ waterproofs for men.
With an RRP of £95 for the jacket and co-ordinating trousers for £65, the Vancouver suit offers a three-year guaranteed water protection. Sunderland state that “The laminated fabric technology makes for a jacket that is water resistant, comfortable and breathable and like its mid-range predecessor, the Classic, it looks destined to be a firm favourite”.
Sunderland’s best-selling ‘Resort’ range with zip-off sleeves has also been refreshed and now includes seven colour choices in full-zip jackets (RRP £140), while the convertible half-zip weatherbeater (RRP £110) boasts six options.
The Resort jackets consist of an ultra-soft laminate outer that provides superb comfort and protection from the elements. The fabric is waterproof, windproof and highly breathable, while the cut gives it a contemporary look to complement the performance and playability.
Sunderland say, “At the helm of our range is the ultra-lightweight ‘Tournament’ suit – a tour quality garment offering a new benchmark in greater comfort, more freedom of movement and better protection from inclement weather”.
Combining THERMAL13 high performance laminate fabric with a contemporary fit, the Tournament is they say “A professional’s choice” (RRP £195 jacket, £130 trousers).
According to Sunderland THERMAL13 helps maintain the energy balance of the human body by using a revolutionary technique to disperse powdered Aluminium in micron-sized particles within the polyurethane membrane itself.
They say “This helps keep the body warm, by using the glint function of the metal to reflect up to 60% of body heat, thereby reducing the conduction of thermal energy through the membrane”.
Sunderland’s 2014 Collection of rainwear for men is completed by the ‘WhisperDry Hush’ hooded waterproof jacket (RRP £170) and trousers (RRP £110).
The stormproof jacket incorporates a foldaway hood for increased protection from heavy rain, and Sunderland state that the ‘scrunch-free’ Whisperdy fabric itself makes the jacket the quietest waterproof in the world!
New in the Ladfies range is the new ‘Bergen’ waterproofs, featuring the Slim-girl trim system which is designed using what they say is a clever use of piping to give the illusion of a slimmer figure.
This new product (RRP £120) is designed to offer a fashionable style whilst offering what the company describes as “A host of weather-beating features and functionality in five gorgeous colour options”.
The youth market is also catered for with the new ‘Junior Resort’ (boys) and ‘Amalfi’ (girls) weatherbeaters, fully waterproof half-zip jackets with a three-year guarantee to suit ages 7-12. Co-ordinating trousers are also available.
