Foremost Golf welcomed 300 professionals across a week of competition and networking during this year’s Foremost Championship Week at The Oxfordshire Golf Hotel & Spa.
The week featured both the Foremost Professionals’ Championship and Assistant Professionals’ Championship, alongside a networking event on the eve of the first day’s play, attended by 80 members and staff. The evening provided a valuable opportunity for professionals from across the Foremost community to spend time together, share ideas and strengthen relationships ahead of the week’s competitions.
The Foremost Professionals’ Championship, supported by TaylorMade, attracted another strong field, with Tom Mead of Colmworth Golf Club producing an excellent round of 69 (-3) to secure the title. Peter Rodgers of Barton On Sea Golf Club claimed the Senior Championship with a round of 75 (+3).
“It’s my first time playing in this event and what a brilliant opportunity to spend time with fellow Foremost members.” said Tom. “The atmosphere throughout was excellent, and it was great to see so much money raised for a fantastic cause. Coming away with the win was a real bonus.”
Peter added: “I’m delighted to come away with the Senior Championship title. The standard of golf was really strong, and The Oxfordshire was once again a superb venue for a fantastic week.”
The momentum continued into the Foremost Assistant Professionals’ Championship, supported by Callaway, where players battled winds exceeding 40mph alongside heavy rain and hail. Despite the difficult conditions, the standard of golf remained exceptionally high.
Ben Hall of Rushcliffe Golf Club secured the Assistant Professionals’ Championship title with a round of 70 (-2), becoming the first player to win the championship twice following his previous success in 2017. Holly Morgan of Lindrick Golf Club claimed the Women’s Assistant Professionals’ Championship with a superb round of 73 (+1).
“To win this championship for a second time means a lot, especially given the conditions we faced this year,” said Ben. “A big thanks to Foremost and Callaway for putting on such a well-run event and making the whole week so enjoyable.”
Holly commented: “To come away with the Women’s Assistant Championship title was really special. A huge thank you to Foremost for putting on such a fantastic week, it’s an event I look forward to each year.”
Both championships also supported charitable causes through birdie initiatives alongside TaylorMade and Callaway. A combined total of 421 birdies helped raise more than £4,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and Alzheimer’s Society throughout the week.
