Sotogrande SA appoints GMS as destination’s sole global comms agency

Sotogrande SA, owners of La Reserva Club – the largest private leisure and real estate destination in Andalucía – has extended its partnership with GMS.

“Having represented Sotogrande SA and La Reserva Club since 2017, promoting its best-in-Europe golf offering, we’re very excited to take on a wider brief and promote every facet of the destination to the discerning traveller and those seeking the best that life can offer,” said Sam Elder, Director at GMS.

Sotogrande’s golf triumvirate of La Reserva Club, Real Club Valderrama and Real Club Sotogrande is world-renowned, though only represents a small part of the plethora of leisure and lifestyle amenities available for residents and guests.

The community’s diverse leisure offering includes polo, kitesurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing, snorkelling, tennis, padel, hunting, horse-riding, cycling, and running through trails in the Alcaidesa nature reserve. While the award-winning Beach Club – Spain’s only private manmade beach – opened its doors in 2018 to provide residents with all the pleasures of a luxury beach in an exclusive setting, as well as an array of water sports pursuits.

Moreover, Sotogrande is a key pillar on the international circuit for world polo and this September it will host the RC44 international sail racing tournament (44cup World Championship) for the fifth year running.

“Since the commencement of our relationship three years ago, I’ve been impressed with GMS’s professionalism and their commitment to providing excellent levels of service,” said Marc Topiol, Chairman of Sotogrande SA.

“The fact that we have enhanced their brief significantly is testament to our trust in their knowledge, processes and network.”

The agreement commenced as of January 2020 and will see GMS act as exclusive agency across all target markets globally.
