The Manor House Golf Club is inviting women of all ages and golf experience levels to join in a fun-filled day of free activities as the club celebrates next month’s International Women’s Golf Day.
On Saturday, June 8, the club – where you can enjoy golf on another level within 365 acres of picturesque Cotswolds countryside – will be throwing its doors open for their Women’s Open Day, an opportunity for beginners to give the game a go for the first time or for more experienced players looking for a new home course to enjoy the venue.
Celebrated worldwide on the first Tuesday of June every year since its inception in 2016, International Women’s Golf Day was created to engage, empower and support women and girls through golf.
As part of the event, The Manor House – and its owners Exclusive Collection – will be providing visitors with the chance to play nine holes on their acclaimed par-72 parkland course, time on the driving range and practice facilities, and expert advice and tips from PGA coach Louis Boston.
Exclusive Collection ambassador Lauren Prince, whose Instagram page ‘@guiltyofgolf’ has inspired thousands of female golfers since launching in 2020, will also be on hand to chat to visitors about the sport and the club. Those in attendance will also receive complimentary fizz on arrival and a ten per cent discount in the pro shop.
The event – held from 12pm to 5pm – is the latest initiative from The Manor House as it steps up its efforts to increase female participation in golf.
The club recently welcomed a group of female influencers and journalists as part of an adidas supported media event – with a panel discussion held focusing on topics including barriers to golf for women, and how The Manor House and other clubs can look to improve these.
Andy Ryan, golf club manager, said: “As a club we are always looking at ways of how we can help get more women and girls into golf, and our Open Day held in celebration of International Women’s Day is another example of just that.
“If you’re an experienced female golfer, or someone with an interest in golf but have never picked up a club before, why not head down and experience everything great the club has to offer.”
