Scottie Scheffler Captures Seventh PGA TOUR Title at the Hero World Challenge

Scottie Scheffler captured his seventh career PGA TOUR victory at the Hero World Challenge by firing rounds of 69-66-65-68 to win by three strokes.

On the final day, Scheffler made consecutive birdies on holes six and seven to reach 18-under-par and extend his lead to four shots. He added birdies on the 15th and 16th to finish the round at 4-under and tournament at 20-under.

Scheffler made his move on the field with a stellar third round where he dismantled the par-5s. Notably, an eagle on the third hole, a birdie on the sixth, and another eagle on the 15th propelled him third-round score of 65 (-7), establishing a three-stroke lead heading into the final round.

The World No. 1 finished the tournament second in SG: Off the Tee (5.3) and driving distance, T2 in Greens in Regulation (69%) and driving accuracy (83%), and fourth 4th in SG:Approach (3.3).

Coming off a record-setting year, Scheffler found himself atop the leaderboard at the conclusion of the Hero World Challenge, hosted by none other than Tiger Woods. His 2022-23 season flirted with matching something only achieved by Woods in his legendary 2000 season—hitting 75 percent of greens in regulation or more. Scheffler finished at 74.43%.
