Richard Bland wins wearing Oscar Jacobson

Oscar Jacobson Ambassador, Richard Bland, captured his first European Tour when he took the first hole of a sudden-death play-off against 24-year-old Italian Guido Migliozzi to win the Betfred British Masters. At 48 years of age, the Englishman became the oldest first-time winner in European Tour history, which came after 478 times of trying.

Wearing the CHAPS TOUR Polo in fiesta, DAVENPORT Trouser is light grey and WALDORF Sweater in Carbon Black, Bland demonstrated that with Oscar Jacobson style and performance are timeless.  An emotional Bland commented on his win, “It’s what I’ve worked for, for 20 years. That’s what we all work for, to win out here and try and prove yourself. I’ve had a few close calls and I assume someone up there was looking down on me quite favourably today. It was just my day.

The Betfred British Masters victory should secure Bland a place at the 121st US Open Championships at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego in June.  Graeme Stevens, Managing Director of Worldwide Golf Brands, distributors of Oscar Jacobson, is delighted for the long-time European Tour member, “Richard is such a great player and we are delighted to see him finally get the victory he deserves. He is a great ambassador for Oscar Jacobson brand demonstrating that hard work and determination really do pay off in this sport. We are very excited to see him join the line-up of Oscar Jacobson players at the season’s next Major.”
