Murrayshall- New project starts building for success

Whilst closed over the winter months, it has been anything but quiet behind the gates of the 365-acre countryside estate that lies just outside the city of Perth. The hotel’s owners, guided by General Manager, Gary Silcock, have been on an ambitious recruitment drive to entice some of the best talent in the hospitality industry to Murrayshall and elevate the all-round customer experience to a five star standard.

In early February Willie Jones joined as Head of Food and Beverage, bringing a wealth of experience with him from his years spent at Gleneagles. He was swiftly followed by new Head of Golf, Clarke Lutton, also from Gleneagles and, just this week, Martin Cometto, a veteran of the luxury hotel experience having previously worked at Turnberry, Pennyhill Park and The Berkeley, was announced as Head of Rooms. This new executive team, with decades of experience behind them, will work together to accelerate Murrayshall’s climb to the pinnacle of Scotland’s hotel industry.

Thanks to the wonderful creativity of Willie Jones and talented head chef, Craig Jackson, April will see the launch of exciting new Spring menus in the Lynedoch Brasserie and Stutts Bar. Prior to reopening guests will also be able to enjoy a teaser of some of the new dishes on the Lynedoch Brasserie menu with a new Dine at Home concept on the 23rd April. This follows the success of the hotel’s virtual tasting series which featured interactive wine, whisky and cocktail tasting evenings hosted by some of the best sommeliers, mixologists and whisky connoisseurs in the country.

The end of April will also see the launch of a brand-new courtyard area, which will provide hotel guests and visitors with a chance to enjoy an intimate alfresco dining experience throughout Spring and Summer.

With luxurious rooms, 365 acres of stunning grounds and tranquil surroundings, Murrayshall is the perfect location for a staycation this summer, offering a variety of attractive offers and packages in addition to a whole new outdoor pursuits offering. The guest relations team has created some fantastic packages for adventure seekers with activities as wide-ranging as salmon fishing, kayaking or stand-up paddle on the River Tay, guided walking tours (with or without a whisky tasting!) and even, for the retro games show enthusiasts, a spot of Krypton Factor!

With such a plethora of activities to choose from, an excuse to book a staycation is not needed but, just to make it even more tempting, the hotel is offering guests the chance to stay at the hotel for just £100 per night, per person with a 3-course dinner included.

Despite a challenging winter, Murrayshall’s golf courses have offered members and visiting golfers a sanctuary to exercise and relax out on the fairways as one of the only permitted activities during lockdown this year. Visitors and guests will be impressed by the condition of both courses following an extensive maintenance programme over the first quarter of 2021 with more ambitious plans to develop the golf offering set to be announced soon.
