Wearing FJ Traditions golf shoes and a StaSof glove, Billy Horschel earned his eighth PGA Tour victory on Sunday after a two-shot win at the Corales Puntacana Championship.

Horschel started the final round in the Dominican Republic three shots behind the leaders but shot a bogey-free 63 on Sunday which included seven birdies and an eagle to earn title number eight on the PGA Tour.

On his way to victory in Punta Cana, the American relied on the lightweight comfort and classic styling of FJ Traditions which is one of the most successful footwear franchises since its launch in 2021.

According to the on and off course sell through data from Golf Datatech, FJ Traditions was the #2 model in the UK in 2023 – second only to the FootJoy Pro|SL.

“What I love about this shoe is that it gives me the stability of an old FJ Icon, but with that extra comfort and lighter weight feel,” said Horschel.

“I am getting that bit older, so I am looking for something that is a little bit more comfortable on my feet when I am on the golf course and since I started wearing this shoe it has been unbelievable.

“There are a couple of things I always look for in a golf shoe, firstly, I want to have a shoe that not only looks good but also matches with my clothes and personality, which is where FootJoy do such a great job of providing such an array of options with a stylish look.

“I then like to focus on the performance side of the golf shoe, where again FootJoy have always done a tremendous job of this and continue to get better.”

FJ Traditions are available in spiked and spikeless shoe options as well as through custom design MyJoys.

At the event, 49% of the field chose to put their trust in the #1ShoeinGolf. FootJoy also topped the glove count for the week with 41% of players opting to wear the #1GloveinGolf.

Alongside praising his footwear, Horschel was also keen to compliment the comfort and performance of his FootJoy StaSof golf glove.

“I currently wear the FootJoy StaSof glove and think it is great.

“I want to have a glove that I can use more than once or twice, I like to wear it for four or five days in a row during a tournament.

“The fact that the durability of the StaSof can withstand after many rounds, with all the golf swings involved with that is unbelievable.”

Elsewhere, on the PGA Tour Champions, Paul Broadhurst wearing his Premiere Series Packard golf shoes claimed a one-shot victory over fellow FJ Ambassador, David Toms, to earn his sixth career win on the over-50’s circuit.
