Luxury designer golf brand G/FORE has been appointed the official glove and shoe partner for the Players Tour – the British professional golf tour.
Launched in 2012, the Players Tour provides a platform for up-and-coming PGA and touring professionals to compete in 18 holes events against their contemporaries in one-day events for guaranteed prize money.
And G/FORE will be providing its colourful, technically advanced gloves and shoes, as prizes to the individual winners of the tour’s tournaments throughout 2015. The brand will also enter into a glove and shoe sponsorship deal with both the 2015 order of merit champion and the G/FORE professional matchplay champion.
The tour teed off at Prince’s Golf Club, in Sandwich, Kent, last week, with Tyrrells Wood GC’s Gary King, 24, from Banstead, securing victory and the £800 first prize.
The tour continues throughout the spring and summer and ends with its Tour Championship in September and the G/FORE Matchplay Grand Final in October. Amateurs can register to compete in an amateur tour which runs alongside the professional tour.
G/FORE’s marketing director, Brittney Souders, said: “Our gloves are already seen regularly on Tour with, among others, both 2014 US Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson and two-time PGA Tour winner Jonas Blixt sporting our contemporary designs.
“But it is important for the continued development of golfers that brands such as ours also support the minor tours, where tomorrow’s stars are attempting to earn their crust today.
