Leading high-performance golf apparel brand Galvin Green has extended its exclusive clothing contracts with European Tour stars Alexander Björk and Laurie Canter for the forthcoming 2022 season, after they finished inside this year’s Race to Dubai top 30 rankings.

The Swedish ace enjoyed a strong second half of the season finishing T2 in the DP World Tour Championship last weekend to move up 39 places to 12th in the final Race to Dubai points list, while a string of consistent results saw the Englishman end the schedule in 24th spot, following a closing 68 at the Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course in Dubai.

Björk, winner of the 2018 Volvo China Open, has played in Galvin Green clothing since he turned professional in 2009, as the company based at his home city of Växjö in southern Sweden supported his career development through from the Nordic and Challenge Tours.

Canter claimed five top-10 finishes on the European Tour this year. His most notable challenge came at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in September, where he narrowly missed out on his maiden Tour victory on the final hole. He has worn Galvin Green apparel on Tour since 2015, having originally chosen to wear the brand before turning professional.

“Both Alexander and Laurie are fantastic ambassadors for Galvin Green and they carry the brand on and off the course with great style,” said CEO Nicholai Stein. “The drive for perfection is the focus of everything we do at Galvin Green and this ethos is clearly shared by these fine players, as they put themselves into contention at the world’s biggest tournaments,” he added.

“As a golfer from Sweden and Växjö, I’m very proud to wear the Galvin Green brand on Tour as it represents the ultimate in golf clothing design and fabric technology to keep me playing at the optimum level” said Björk. “Renewing our agreement for next season gives me motivation to take my performances to the next level and continue the success of our partnership.”

One of the longest drivers on the European Tour averaging 304 yards, Canter commented: “Because we play in such a wide variety of conditions – from the intense heat of Dubai to the wind and rain of Scotland – I know that wearing Galvin Green will always help me perform at my best. Being comfortable on the golf course so important to my success that I’m delighted to sign with Galvin Green for another exciting season.”

Among the most notable garments worn by Björk and Canter this past season have been the distinctive MITCHELL and MAC shirts, constructed in VENTIL8™ PLUS stretch fabric that combines excellent breathability with UV 20+ protection; NOAH trousers in the same flexible fabric which incorporate a shirt gripper waistband for a perfect fit in 20 size options; the DOMINIC INSULA™ half zip sweater made from fabric derived from recycled plastic bottles with extra padding in the shoulders for increased comfort; and the 100% waterproof GORE-TEX ACTION jacket with a C-KNIT ‘slide & glide’ lining.
