FJ celebrates double DP World Tour wins

FootJoy #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf celebrate champions on both DP World Tour events this week, with Adrian Meronk winning the Australian Open and Thirston Lawrence victorious at the South African Open.

At the Blair Atholl Golf & Equestrian Estate in Johannesburg, Lawrence was able to claim his third victory on the DP World Tour after a dramatic final round. The South African had a five-shot lead early on the back nine however he was reeled in by his playing partner over the next few holes. The 26-year-old showed great strength of character to be able to get the win over the line by one shot at 16 under par, claiming the South African Open trophy.
Sporting the Premier Series Packard, Lawrence said:

“It’s not over until the fat lady sings and I got a little conservative over the closing stretch and it cost me… I managed to hang in there, it’s what you strive for and play for every day. Being a kid, you dream of this moment and I’m just so pleased, words can’t describe it.”

Meronk stormed clear of the field on his way to victory beating home favourite Adam Scott by five shots to become the first Polish player to win the Australian Open. The Pole won in outstanding fashion, by ending his final round with an eagle-putt from off the green at the 72nd hole to close out the tournament with a four-under par 66.

Putting his trust in Premier Series Packard and StaSof Glove, the 29-year-old said afterwards:

“To finish like that on the 18th hole, it’s just unreal. I’m so grateful, thank you for all the support and I’ve enjoyed this week so much. I felt really good again today. I just kept doing what I’ve been doing the last two days and just worked pretty well. I’m super proud of me and proud of my team and yeah, I’m happy right now.”
