Ballesteros Masters set to tempt winter golfers

The Shire London (www.theshirelondon.com), is looking to drive numbers of golfers playing their course this winter by once again offering a special”Shire Fourball” deal.  The Ballesteros Masters Course is the UK’s only 18-hole Seve Ballesteros designed course playing 7,028 yards long.

The Shire say that the course is in best-ever condition and they are confident their promotional rates will lure many golfers from London and the South East, and far into the Midlands and East Anglia, over the next few months.

‘The Shire Fourball’ is an all-inclusive deal for visiting golfers which gives four golfers tea/coffee and bacon rolls before play; 18 holes on the Ballesteros Masters Course; and a Chef’s Special for each golfer in the clubhouse after the round – for just £160 per fourball Monday-Thursday, and £170 on Fridays. Morning tee times only.

The Shire London Winter Fourball offer starts on November 1st, and runs until March 31st 2014. It is valid Monday to Friday if booked at least seven days in advance.

With The Shire’s normal weekday green fees being £55 (single) and up to £185 (fourball), golf-only, the club believes it is no wonder that The Shire Fourball is always popular, when it is offered.

Also returning for autumn/winter 2013-14 is The Shire London Winter Society Special.

For just £40 per person (£45 p/p on Fridays), this package offers Society and Golf Day organisers the best available rates this autumn / winter to base their golf day around the Ballesteros Masters Course.

The Shire London Winter Society Special includes tea/coffee and bacon rolls before play; 18 holes on the Ballesteros Masters Course, with a dedicated event Starter; Nearest The Pin and Longest Drive competitions; and a 1-course post-golf meal in a private area.

It starts on November 1st, and runs until March 31st 2014. It is valid Monday to Friday if booked at least seven days in advance. There is a 12-golfer minimum booking, and the organiser plays for free.

“After seven full seasons we feel that The Shire London is now well-established as one of the South’s premier golfing experiences” says the club’s Ceri Menai-Davis. “Our reputation as a friendly and welcoming modern club with a superlative golf course has been hard-won over the years, against stiff competition in this part of the country. But I think people now accept that The Shire is one of the true jewels in England’s golfing crown.

“People only need look at its reviews on the internet, to see what golfers are saying about the Ballesteros Masters Course this year. We think that this year’s Winter Fourball and Winter Society deals will prove very popular, and visitors will find that our clubhouse food is every bit as good as the golf!”
