TGI Golf Partnership launches its own travel company – TGI Golf Travel

The TGI Golf Partnership is launching a new travel company aimed at custom fitting golf travel and adding another revenue stream to its Partners. TGI Golf Travel will be launched on September 4, 2017, and will offer bespoke golf travel packages, placing an emphasis on personal service and guidance.

The new company will be headed up by Neil MacRae, a golf travel veteran with 25 years in the industry having previously worked with 3D Golf and Golf Kings and will have a whole host of offers including winter teaching breaks for PGA Professionals, golfing holidays, staycations and Masters and Ryder Cup packages.

Neil said: “TGI Golf Travel will be all about the personal touches. Yes, price is important, but so is customer service and making sure the customer is looked after from start to finish…the finish being when they return from holiday. For me, golf travel is becoming a race to the bottom on price. It’s all become about finding the golfer the cheapest possible break, booking it, taking their money and then sending them off.

“TGI Golf Travel will be different, we will look after every element of the booking, from recommending the best destinations and venues down to tee times and even range tokens, we’ll take care of everything so all the customer has to worry about is having a great time.”

Eddie Reid, TGI Golf Managing Director said: “We wanted to bring the travel side of things in-house, like we have with many of our services. It is important we have complete control over service provision rather than using a third party to run things in a way that may not fit directly with our core values of outstanding quality and service.

“TGI Golf Travel will give, not just our Partners, but PGA Professionals and golfers across UK & Ireland the opportunity to book holidays with the confidence they will be treated as a person and not just a number affecting the bottom line.”

As well as benefiting the golf traveller the new business will also have a direct benefit to the group’s Partners across the UK & Ireland. As they own the group, TGI’s PGA Professional Partners will benefit directly sharing any profits made by TGI Golf Travel through the Partnership’s annual dividend programme. It will also have an ‘affinity scheme’ so TGI Partners receive another direct benefit from customers booking holidays through TGI Golf Travel, as they receive points to use against their own bookings.
