Research conducted by the PGA EuroPro Tour among its up and coming professional golfers shows that Motocaddy is the preferred brand of choice for those using a powered trolley.
The survey amongst players on Europe’s third-tier Tour revealed more than 65 per cent of the field regularly use a trolley in competitive rounds, with over half of those Pros opting to play with Motocaddy.
The news comes ahead of the title-sponsored ‘Motocaddy Masters,’ taking place at The Carrick on Loch Lomond, Dunbartonshire from the 12-14th July. One of the strongest fields of young professional golfers in Europe is expected to take part in the 54-hole strokeplay event, which carries a prize fund of almost £50,000.
The Carrick event highlights the long-standing relationship between the EuroPro Tour and Motocaddy, now into its 11th year as the Official Electric Trolley. “Our partnership has grown year-on-year and we’re delighted to have the headline event at such a prestigious venue and re-named as the Motocaddy Masters,” said Marketing Manager Oliver Churcher.
“Research plays a key role for us in developing new models and it’s great to see so many players using Motocaddy trolleys on the EuroPro Tour and providing us with vital feedback on performance at a high level.”
This season’s partnership sees Motocaddy’s brand new S1 electric trolley presented to the winner of all 15 Tour events that culminate at the Tour Championship at the Desert Springs Golf Club in Almeria, Spain in October.
Players are competing for more than £800,000 worth of prize money on the EuroPro Tour this year, with the top five golfers on the Order of Merit awarded a 2017 Challenge Tour card.
The survey also revealed that players chose to use a powered trolley for three main reasons: to avoid carrying on the course (41 per cent), keep equipment dry (21 per cent) and generally feel more energised during and after the round (19 per cent).
