First winner of iPlayGolfUK Cup

An inaugural golfing competition has been held at iPlayGolfUK, the UK’s largest indoor golf complex.

Held at the venue in Newport Pagnell to coincide with the brand’s first anniversary, over 50 golfers competed for the first prize, a custom-fitted TaylorMade M1 driver worth almost £400. The winner of the event was 27-year old Northampton accountant Tom Linnett, who claimed the trophy with a 6-under par score after 18 holes of simulated golf.

“It’s a great place and well worth the half-hour drive from where I live” said Linnett, who is a member at Northampton Golf Club in Harlestone. “This was my second visit, and my friends and I plan to visit regularly – especially when the weather’s not so good. As well as all the golf you can also watch sport on the big screens at iPlayGolfUK, and they have PS3 too”.

iPlayGolf’s Neil Wilcox commented: “We’ve created an indoor golfing playground which really comes into its own when the weather outside is doing its best to spoil your regular game of golf!

“As Tom and his fellow competitors will tell you, our six simulators recreate the feeling of real golf with all the comforts you associate with being at home. We congratulate him on becoming our first-ever iPlayGolf Cup winner. The event was so popular that we’ll be running regular tournaments here from now on.”
