Wilson Staff introduces FG Tour F5 Woods and irons

Wilson Staff is enhancing its FG Tour equipment franchise with the introduction of the new FG Tour F5 driver, fairway woods and hybrids along with a new line of forged irons.

The FG Tour F5 club series has been developed with a new Feel, Crossover and Distance (F-C-D) system to meet technology needs of every type of golfer. Defining players within the three categories enables club features and benefits to be matched with individual playing styles.

“The new Crossover category is for the golfer who wants workability, forgiveness and distance in their clubs,” said global director of innovation, Michael Vrska. “Our product design starts and ends with the player in mind and whilst the new F5 designs are geared to suit the eye of the better player our game improvement technology helps complement each golfer’s game.”

The FG Tour F5 driver is offered in two lofts (9° and 10.5°) each featuring a six-way adjustable hosel covering loft settings from 8° to 12° in half degree increments and three adjustable sole weights to allow players to attain their ideal launch angle, ball speed and spin rate.

The new FG Tour F5 Fairway Woods also have the Green Means GO! Fast Fit technology and a Carpenter Custom 455 maraging stainless steel face insert which was influenced and refined by the Wilson Advisory Staff. Available in three loft models, each including a six-way adjustable hosel for precise ball trajectory and an interchangeable weight placed low and close to the face which decreases spin, maintaining an optimal launch for maximum distance.

The FG Tour F5 Hybrids have an improved new head design with the same Carpenter Custom 455 maraging stainless steel face insert creating a thin, flexible and responsive CT (Characteristic Time) face for increased ball speeds and longer distances. Available in three loft options (17°, 20°* and 23°*), each with three loft and three upright lie settings along with the same Green Means GO! Fast Fit technology for optimal launch and spin angle.

The FG Tour F5 series will be available from January 2016 at the following recommended price points: Drivers (£279), Fairway Woods (£199), Hybrids (£179) and Irons (Steel £599 / Graphite £699).
