Touch of Golf Genius at The Tassie

Golf Genius event management software has been chosen to manage one of the largest and oldest amateur events in the country, the Craw’s Nest Tassie at Carnoustie. As part of the agreement, Golf Genius will register over 330 entrants, produce a bespoke tournament website, manage both the strokeplay and matchplay portions of the competition over the six days, and deliver a live leaderboard in the clubhouse.

Affectionately known as ‘The Tassie’, the event begins with two stroke play qualifying rounds, one over the Championship course and the other over the Buddon. The 64 competitors with the lowest 36-hole gross scores then play match play over the Championship for the Tassie, while the 64 competitors with the lowest 36-hole nett scores compete for the Maulesbank Trophy in an identical match play format over the Buddon. A consolation sweepstake is also organised for those not qualifying for either matchplay knock-out.

Colin Mcleod, golf services manager at the Carnoustie Golf Links Management Committee said, “We have been really impressed with the flexibility of the Golf Genius software and are one hundred percent confident it can handle the complexity of the Tassie. It will save us time and resource in running the event and allow us to provide a better experience for our competitors.”
