Titleist dominates as #1 golf ball at 100th PGA Championship

The #1 ball in golf claims another impressive ball count victory at the year’s final Major Championship

Titleist’s dominant form at Majors is showing no signs of stopping at this week’s PGA Championship, as 101 players have opted to place their trust in the #1 ball in golf.

With the world’s leading golfers taking on the championship layout of Bellerive Country Club, 65% of the 156-man field have chosen the performance and consistency of the legendary Pro V1 and Pro V1x; over five times the nearest competitor and more than all other brands combined. A win this week would make it three PGA Championships in-a-row, and seven consecutive Major titles for the #1 ball in golf dating back to the 2017 U.S Open.

In fact, so far in 2018, all men’s and women’s Majors have been won with players using either Pro V1 or Pro V1x, Titleist golf ball loyalist, Georgia Hall’s (Pro V1), historic victory at the RICOH Women’s British Open being the most recent of these triumphs.

Prior to this week’s PGA Championship, the Pro V1 and Pro V1x had amassed a remarkable 138 worldwide wins on global professional tours, over six times its nearest competitor (21). Accumulatively, Titleist has achieved a staggering worldwide ball count of 18,543, more than seven times that of its closest rival (2,535).

Speaking on the fantastic showing at Major tournaments this year, Michael Creighton, Titleist Golf Ball Manager, said: “We are delighted that once again the best players in the world have placed their trust in Titleist golf balls at the 2018 PGA Championship. The winning margins we are seeing in ball counts each week are some of the biggest for many years, speaking to the performance excellence of Pro V1 and Pro V1x, and long may it continue.”
