Shot Scope welcomes Julie Benford as board director, adding experience and industry knowledge

Shot Scope, industry leader in advanced GPS, laser rangefinder and shot tracking technology, is delighted to announce a new addition to the team with Julie Benford appointed as non-executive board director.

The addition of Julie, who is a highly reputable individual within the golf technology industry, to Shot Scope’s board will further solidify the brand as a dominant force in the market. Their comprehensive product line that includes GPS, laser rangefinder and shot tracking solutions helps golfers of all abilities improve by an average of 4.1 shots.

Julie has extensive experience across a number of sectors, most recently the sports technology market, covering a number of sports including golf.  A notable milestone for Julie was managing the golf category for Garmin UK and Ireland, as she handled the launch of the first ever GPS golf-specific wearable in 2010, and oversaw the product’s rise to being multimillion-dollar market leader at the time.

“Julie is a fantastic asset to both the board and the wider Shot Scope team. We are delighted that Julie has chosen to join the board and help the company through global expansion. Her knowledge and understanding of the distance measuring device space is invaluable, and we look forward to utilising her industry insight.” comments David Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Shot Scope.

July will be working closely with both the board and the executive team, and her extensive experience, advice and industry insight will aim to drive global expansion. Her expertise in working with specialist golf retailers both on and off-course, along with supporting the placement of product in the wider consumer technology market, will ensure that Julie transitions seamlessly into her new role at Shot Scope.

“Shot Scope is an exciting and agile company, with innovative and creative technology that improves how golfers play – something I am really looking forward to being a part of,” comments Julie Benford. “From my experience, alongside the relationships I have built in the golf and sports technology industry, I feel I have a lot to offer at Shot Scope, and I truly believe I can make positive difference at the company.”

Shot Scope will be exhibiting at the upcoming PGA show in Orlando showcasing their latest technology to the media and attendees at booth 2231.
