Royal & Awesome has launched a new competition to find the ‘Most Awesome’ retailer of their clothing in Europe. The competition is open to retailers of all sizes with entrants judged on three criteria. This includes incremental sales, allowing smaller retailers to compete with larger ones. They will also be judged on the strength of their visual merchandising such as window displays. Finally entrants need to demonstrate Awesome initiative, which could include dressing their club team in Royal & Awesome apparel.
The winner’s prizes are £1,000 in cash, five Awesome staff uniforms, and the honour of being Royal & Awesome’s official ‘Most Awesome’ retailer. The winner will be chosen by a panel of experts, including Royal & Awesome brand director Graeme Smeaton, Bijal Patani (JS International) and Glyn Pritchard, editor of Golf Retailing.
Brand director Graeme Smeaton said, “We have always known that a lot of retailers are incredibly passionate about selling Royal & Awesome – but now we want to find out who really is the most awesome of all. We’ll be looking for the people who go that extra mile, who really throw themselves into selling Royal & Awesome products. Royal & Awesome clothes are bold and bright and funky – and we’ll be looking for the retailer who applies a similar attitude to spreading the word of Royal & Awesome to their customers.
“That might mean amazing mannequins and crazy window displays; it might mean getting the staff head-to-toe in Royal & Awesome so customers can see how great the clothes look. Whatever it is, Glyn, Bijal and I will be looking for fun and imagination and most of all, awesomeness.”
