Record 2021 sees GMS enter multiple PR Week Top 150 rankings

GMS, a leading golf-specific PR and marketing agency based in Essendon, Herts, achieved record growth in 2021, resulting in its inclusion in three PR Week Top 150 rankings, including the coveted ‘Bubbling Under’ List.

The agency, which also placed for the first time in PR Week’s Top 150 Independent Agencies and Agencies Outside of London rankings at #39, recorded UK sales of more than £3.3m in 2021, up from £1.95m in 2020.

PR Week’s Top 150 lists the best and largest PR agencies in the UK, accounting only for revenue received specifically for PR services within the country. UK PR consultancy fees received by GMS amounted to £1.33M in 2021, up from £940k in 2020; a growth rate of 41%.

“For a niche, golf-specific agency to be within touching distance of the largest and most successful agencies in the country, and to be one of the UK’s fastest growing, is an achievement we’re extremely proud of,” said Sam Elder, Director and co-owner of GMS.

“It’s a real testament to the magnificent team that Phil Craghill and myself have working with us here. The talent we have impresses and amazes me every working day, and it has resulted in our clients trusting us to do more and having complete confidence in our collective ability to deliver.

Fellow Director and co-owner, Phil Craghill, added: “We’re not an agency that seeks growth for growth’s sake, but I think it has come as a result of the quality of our work rising consistently, which is really pleasing; and therefore, more companies are coming to us for support.”

PR Week is the media authority and primary thought leader in the UK PR industry, providing opinion and analysis of key PR industry trends. Its annual Top 150 ranking lists the UK’s most successful agencies across categories, while also providing a key source for trend reporting and industry-wide insights.

GMS provides full marketing services, including PR, specifically to leading brands, resorts, clubs, and rights holders within the global golf industry. Headquartered in Hertfordshire with an Asian office in Singapore, it counts the likes of PING, ECCO Golf, Golf Pride Grips, Toptracer, Royal Liverpool Golf Club, BGL, Close House, Prince’s Golf Club, Foremost Golf, PowaKaddy, Golf Genius Software, Shot Scope Technologies, Bernhard and Company, Chart Hills, Royal Lytham & St Anne’s, Essendon Country Club, Nippon Shaft, The Solheim Cup and many more in its growing roster of clients.
