PABLO AND ROGUE SPEED TO VICTORY IN SOUTH AFRICA

Back-to-back birdies in a three-way play-off powered Staffer Pablo Larrazábal to his sixth DP World Tour title, helped by a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey equipment, including the new Rogue ST Driver.

Pablo started his final round two shots off the lead at the MyGolfLife Open hosted by Pecanwood in South Africa, but a strong final round saw him finish tied at 22 under par, joined at the top by fellow countryman and Callaway Staff Professional, Adri Arnaus.

However, it was the steely 38-year-old that held his play-off nerves and stormed to victory, climbing to 9th in the DP World Tour rankings in the process, and earning a cool €231,765 winner’s cheque.

A jubilant Pablo said: “What a day. I felt great this morning. It was one of those days where you just feel great and you know you’re going to have a chance. I started fast to get into the lead very quick.

“I have to thank Callaway for all the help they have been giving me, all the trust through the years. They keep pushing and trusting me and here we are with a sixth DP World Tour Trophy.”

His equipment of choice included the Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS Driver, a low spin option for better players and the latest evolution of Callaway’s Tour-proven Triple Diamond heads. It’s the lowest spinning Rogue ST Driver model, with a neutral-to-fade bias in a compact 450cc head.

His blended set of irons included Callaway Apex TCB Irons, precision-engineered for forged performance, shot-making, and control and Callaway Apex MB Irons, classic blades built for the best players in the game.

He also used the 2022 Chrome Soft X Triple Track Golf Ball featuring Triple Track Technology that uses Vernier Hyper Acuity with three prominent lines on the ball designed to improve alignment on putting.

Pablo also continues to rely on a Callaway X Forged UT utility iron and a trio of Callaway Mack Daddy Wedges.

Finally, his Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas Mallet Putter includes alignment wings, deep cross-hatch grooves engineered across the face, and a Charcoal Smoke Finish. Pablo used his putter to perfection, finishing second in Strokes Gained Putting, whilst also leading the overall Strokes Gained statistics for the tournament.

Odyssey continues to be the #1 Putter on every major Tour worldwide.

Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway EMEA, commented: “Pablo is one of the most consistent performers on the DP World Tour and we are pleased that he can rely on our equipment, even in the most stressful of play-off situations, to deliver tournament-winning performances. Congratulations to him on title #6 from everyone at #TeamCallaway.”
