Ortiz Joins Stuburt Stars at the Open

Carlos Ortiz has joined the ranks of golfers that will be wearing Stuburt apparel at this year’s Open, by winning the International Series Macau by three shots. Ortiz, who represents Stuburt sponsored Torque G.C. on the LIV Tour, shot a fantastic final round of six under to leave Patrick Reed three shots behind in second place.

It was a painful finish however for Fireballs G.C. captain, and fellow Stuburt player, Sergio Garcia, as he narrowly missed out on a qualifying spot. Garcia shot a final round 65, finishing fourth by just one shot after a missed birdie chance on the final hole.

“I’m delighted for Carlos,” commented Graeme Stevens, Managing Director of Stuburt. “He’s been getting better and better all year and this is a just reward for all his hard work. The numbers of Stuburt players in this year’s Majors is testament to the quality we have on the roster. Carlos is joining his team captain Joaquin Niemann at the Open, along with Stinger GC captain Louis Oosthuizen, and we have four players lining up at the Masters in a few weeks. I can’t wait to see so many players sporting Stuburt on the biggest stage.”
