Open tickets for sale

Tickets go on sale on 4 November for the 2015 Open Championship at St Andrews, where Rory McIlroy will defend his title. The 144th Open Championship will be played from 12 to 19 July 2015 over the Old Course.

It is the 29th time The Open has been played at St Andrews and the list of champions at the Home of Golf includes some of the greatest players in the sport’s history such as Bobby Jones, Peter Thomson, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo, Tiger Woods and Louis Oosthuizen, who lifted the Claret Jug in 2010.

Earlier this year, The R&A, which organises The Open, announced an extension to the exemption of five-time Open Champion Tom Watson which will enable him to make his 40th anniversary appearance in The Open at St Andrews next year.

Johnnie Cole-Hamilton, Executive Director – Championships at The R&A, said, “We are very much looking forward to the return of The Open to St Andrews next year. There is always a special atmosphere at St Andrews and we will be working hard to deliver an outstanding experience for spectators once again. With Rory McIlroy defending the Claret Jug and Tom Watson making what is likely to be his final appearance in The Open, there will be no shortage of drama and emotion for the galleries. It promises to be a fantastic week of world class golf.” More information at www.TheOpen.com
