NIPPON SHAFT WINS the U.S. WOMEN’S OPEN

The winner of the 78th U.S. Women’s Open won her first major championship Sunday (July 9) using Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ 105 S flex shafts in her irons and wedges.

The 25-year-old Hawaiian shot a 9-under par total at Pebble Beach Golf Links with rounds of 69-70-71-69—279 to win by three shots and earn $2 million for the victory, her first on the LPGA Tour. She was the first American to win the championship since 2016.

“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the winner of this year’s U.S. Women’s Open Championship,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are very proud that she utilised our products to produce an outstanding performance on an iconic golf course.”

She finished second in the tournament for the statistic Strokes Gained Approach, which measures shots to the green, and was the only player in the field to post all four rounds under par.

More than 500 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour and Korn Ferry Tour use Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO and MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy, and trajectory.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands.  Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com
