Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metal awarded ‘Most Wanted’ Game improvement iron by MyGolfSpy

Mizuno is delighted to announce that cult equipment website MyGolfSpy.com has named the JPX919 Hot Metal as it’s ‘Most Wanted’ game improvement irons of 2019.

Founded in Osaka, Japan in 1906, Mizuno has long held an enviable industry- and tour-wide reputation for crafting the finest irons on the market. This latest award builds on a growing reputation for Mizuno’s JPX iron series among both professionals and amateur players. The JPX900 and JPX919 Tour models have already won four Major titles in the hands of a non-contracted player.

“Outside of Japan, Mizuno has generally been pigeonholed as a better players iron manufacturer,” said Chris Voshall from Mizuno USA. “Winning consumer tests with irons like the JPX919 Hot Metal is a nice balance to the wins on tour that golfers have come to expect from us.”

MyGolfSpy claims its test is the world’s most comprehensive, with 17 of the top game-improvement models put to the test and over 10,000 shots hit. The Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metal was praised unanimously for its looks, feel and alignment, with testers citing its soft yet powerful feel at impact. The irons performed exceptionally well for accuracy and forgiveness, ranking top ten for ‘proximity to hole’ and ‘shot area’ for all three clubs tested. Ball speed, carry distance and total distance were exceptionally consistent and JPX 919 Hot Metal was also rated one of the best on test for slower swing speed golfers.

The JPX919 Hot Metal iron has been engineered for the perfect blend of ball speed and soft, controllable landing angles. High-strength Chromoly 4140M has paved the way to a new multi-thickness face that promotes astonishing ball speeds, while a seamless one-piece cup face ensures surprising levels of feedback even at such unprecedented ball speeds. The head’s new stability frame is open at the heel portion to enhance stability, launch and a loft-appropriate flight apex for controlled, soft-landing approaches. Re-engineered Sound Ribs have been developed to hit specific vibration patterns that ensure a satisfying sensation through impact.

JPX919 Hot Metal offers a steeper transition into more compact scoring irons and wedges, with set-matching gap, sand and lob wedges available engineered from a softer X30 steel and blessed with precision-milled grooves and faces for improved spin and control around the greens.
