Kaymer confirms for Alstom Open de France

Following his win at the The Players Championship, Martin Kaymer has confirmed his appearance in this year’s Alstom Open de France, 3 to 6 July. The former world number one secured a victory at the tournament in 2009. He will be joined on the Albatros course at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines by American Kevin Stadler, winner of the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February and recently tied eighth in the Masters, who will make his first appearance in the event. These two big names join a confirmed field that already includes Graeme McDowell and Victor Dubuisson, the defending champion and the French number one.

Kaymer has played every French Open since his first appearance in 2007 and besides his 2009 win, has recorded four additional top 15 spots. He commented, ““I am very happy to come back to one of my favourite events on the European Tour. The course is fantastic and so are the fans. They are always very supportive and loud during the French Open. I cannot even imagine what it will be like in 2018 at the Ryder Cup.”
