Fujikura celebrated a standout weekend across the professional and amateur game, with its VENTUS shafts featuring in three significant victories in Memphis, Pennsylvania and Denmark.
The headline success came in Memphis, where the World No.1 claimed an emphatic eight-shot victory in the opening event of the season-ending Playoffs.
The 30-year-old, who secured his 21st PGA TOUR title, trusted a VENTUS Black 7-X shaft in his driver and VENTUS Black 8-X in his 3-wood. A course-record-equalling nine-under-par 61 in the second round helped establish a three-shot advantage heading into the weekend before he pulled clear of the field.
The victory was Fujikura’s 16th PGA TOUR win of the season and came during another strong week for the brand in the equipment counts.
Fujikura was the number one driver and wood shaft manufacturer in Memphis, with 47.8% of the field using its shafts in their drivers. That represented a 21.7% advantage over the nearest competitor and a 5.5% increase compared with the previous year’s championship. Fujikura was also used in 40% of fairway woods.
There was further VENTUS success at the U.S. Amateur, where both finalists used Fujikura shafts. The eventual champion, the first English winner since 2013, played VENTUS TR Black 6-X in his driver, VENTUS TR Red 7-X in his 3-wood and VENTUS TR Blue 9-X with VeloCore+ in his driving iron.
Fujikura also topped the driver, wood and hybrid shaft counts at the championship, including a 51.3% share of driver shafts.
Completing the weekend was success on the DP World Tour, where the winner secured his second title with victory on home soil. Winther used a VENTUS TR Blue 6-X with VeloCore+ in his driver and VENTUS Blue 9-X in his utility wood.
Pat McCoy, Director of Tour Operations at Fujikura, said: “This is a fantastic weekend for Fujikura, with three significant victories across the men’s game, led by an important win in Memphis and a great way to begin the final stretch of the season.
“To see VENTUS once again trusted by a winner when the pressure is at its highest is incredibly satisfying. Our technology is designed to provide golfers with the stability, consistency and confidence they need to perform, and this victory is another great example of that in action.”
