TV presenter Chris Hollins has chosen to wear Galvin Green hi-tech apparel for a new series of the acclaimed Golf’s Greatest Holes show devoted entirely to the challenging Dunluce Links at Royal Portrush Golf Club, venue for The 153rd Open Championship next July.
Playing alongside co-host Paul McGinley and several guests drawn from Irish golfing legends and golf-loving celebrities, Chris will be wearing a range of garments from the latest Galvin Green collection during filming of ‘The Open Special’ over the coming weeks. The final six-part series, the first to feature all 18 holes at a single course, is scheduled for broadcast across the world later this year after being premiered on Sky Sports.
Among those joining show hosts Paul McGinley and Chris Hollins to play selected holes on the spectacular course in Northern Ireland for the new six-part Series is local favourite and Honorary Club Member Darren Clarke, who became Champion Golfer in 2011.
“I’ve been blown away with the quality of the garments from Galvin Green when playing at Royal Portrush, which can see weather conditions literally change from one hole to the next,” said Chris, who plays off a 7 handicap. “And from my recent experience, it’s not just the reliable waterproof and windproof outfits, but the shirts, trousers and other tops that make playing in Galvin Green gear such a pleasurable experience,” added Chris.
Among the garments in Chris’s new wardrobe are the long-lasting waterproof AMES jacket and ALAN pants in Super Stretch Pertex® fabric, LAURO INTERFACE™ and DAVE INSULA™ tops, plus the popular highly breathable MILLER shirt.
The new Series – filmed using 4k super high-definition cameras and drones – is expected to be screened in more than 180 countries and via many airlines over the coming years. The headline sponsor is tech company Ci Global and it’s also being supported by Tourism Ireland, Your Golf Travel, the leading specialist travel agency, and top-selling electric trolley company Motocaddy.
