Callaway Staffer Sam Burns captures fourth PGA Tour title at Colonial

Sam Burns pieced together an incredible final round to capture the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club on Sunday, his fourth PGA Tour title and second in 2022.

In what proved to be challenging conditions in Texas, Sam shot a 5-under par final round of 65 to finish 9-under par for the tournament, earning him a spot in a two-man play-off.

Replaying the par-4 18th, Sam rolled in his Callaway Chrome Soft X golf ball from 38-feet for birdie from the fringe of the green and with his opponent unable to match it, Sam claimed the victory.

Starting the final round seven shots off the lead, Sam equalled the largest deficit anyone has ever overcome to win at Colonial Country Club.

Sam, whose victory sees the 25-year-old climb to 9th in the World Rankings, said: “I just played such a good round of golf today and [caddie] Travis Perkins did a great job all day just keeping us in it. I’m proud of the way we finished, and then to make that putt is just icing on the cake.”
