OCEANTEE announced as supplier to the Ladies European Tour

The Ladies European Tour (LET) has announced OCEANTEE, the sustainable golf brand, as a Supplier for the 2021 season. Following the recent announcement of the LET’s sustainability initiative, ‘Celebrating the Green, presented by Dow’, the collaboration continues the LET’s dedication to recognise and engage in sustainability and climate action.

In 2020, OCEANTEE contributed towards the LET’s aim to ‘Return to Play’ by providing their award winning durable and sustainable bamboo tees in individual matchboxes, allowing events to follow the relevant Covid-19 protocols.  Due to LET’s commitment to environmental awareness and also to the players’ appreciation of the product, the partnership will continue into 2021 with Tour players and Pro-Am competitors having access to bamboo tees in LET / OCEANTEE co-branded matchboxes.

Extending beyond the provision of tees, OCEANTEE and the Marine Conservation Society are also set to deliver sustainability educational sessions as part of the Tour’s new initiative.

The first OCEANTEE Marine Conservation session is scheduled to take place in the early part of the season, inviting children aged 11-15 and will combine a ‘classroom’ element with an outdoors activity, such as a beach clean.  Topics will include sources of pollution, the impact on marine environments and actions that children can take themselves to drive change at their own golf clubs.

The aim is for OCEANTEE to have presence at those participating tournaments where visitors will be able find out more about this unique OCEANTEE/LET partnership as well as Marine Conservation Society initiatives.

Ed Sandison, Founder of OCEANTEE, said, “We’re delighted to add the LET to our company’s partner list and we are excited by the potential impact that the partnership can deliver. Working with leading players and tournaments has always been an ambition for the business, but what really drives us is the opportunity to influence change.  By working with the LET not only will we continue to increase the use of bamboo sustainable tees, but we will also be able to educate the golfers of tomorrow about the importance of sustainability and the impact of pollution.”

Speaking about the announcement, Ladies European Tour CEO, Alexandra Armas said,

“We are excited to welcome OCEANTEE to the LET as a Proud Supplier for the 2021 season.  As we increase our sustainability drive, OCEANTEE makes complete sense, and we are very much looking forward to introducing the education series.  This work will help our connection to the next generation, highlighting and sharing the significance of sustainability.”
