The World No.1 has been named the Tour’s Player of the Year (POTY) for the fourth time, with Fujikura – the global leader in composite shaft innovation – proudly supporting his success throughout another trophy-laden season.
The American powered his way to six victories, including two Major Championships, which saw Fujikura end the 2025 campaign with a total of 24 Tour wins.
Fujikura – the number one driver shaft on the Tour for the past six years* – has been an ever-present for the newly-crowned POTY, and his trust in VENTUS has allowed him to deliver an unrivalled display of power, control and consistency on his endless march to world dominance.
The 29-year-old claimed his first victory of 2025 in Texas in May, where he dominated the field to win by eight shots, before producing another commanding display at the second Major Championship of the season in Charlotte, North Carolina. Trusting VENTUS – a line designed to maximize clubhead stability and promote consistent center-face contact – he would conquer one of the most demanding layouts on the Tour, known for its penal rough and fearsome closing stretch.
Following this success, the POTY successfully defended his title in Dublin, Ohio, a victory he put down to his driving and ability to stay out of the rough. In picking up more than a shot and a half a round on the field, from the tee, he finished the week leading this category with an incredible 6.5 shots.
In July, the recipient of the Jack Nicklaus Award completed the third leg of the career Grand Slam in Portrush, Northern Ireland, where victory in golf’s oldest Major Championship made it a clean sweep of winners for Fujikura and VENTUS across the Majors in 2025, the first time a specialist shaft brand had achieved such a feat*.
On a course that severely punished inaccurate driving and featured numerous dog-legging fairways, VENTUS and VeloCore technology once again helped the World No.1 to find the short grass, from where he was able to control his ball flight and attack the flags.
The Dallas native finished inside the top 25 in all his 20 starts, with a season-high 17 top-10 finishes. Another assured display of ball-striking off the tee saw him finish the season top of Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (2.361), Strokes Gained: Approach to the Green (1.291), and Strokes Gained: Total (2.743).
He also finished second in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, with the cutting edge technology of VENTUS giving the four-time Major winner the tight dispersion and supreme control required to post consistently low scores.
For both Major Championship victories, the POTY used a VENTUS Black 7-X in his driver. He also trusted VENTUS in his fairway wood shafts, using a VENTUS Black 8-X in his 3-wood (Portrush and Charlotte), and VENTUS Black 9-X in his 7-wood (Charlotte).
