Worldwide Golf Brands secures rights to BIG MAX and ZOOM

Worldwide Golf Brands (WWGB) has secured the long term rights to distribute European push trolley and golf bag market leader BIG MAX and innovative laser rangefinder and golf glove brand ZOOM, in the U.K. & Ireland

On the back of a hugely successful period with its brand portfolio of Oscar Jacobson, Stuburt and MacGregor, WWGB is investing over £1 million in the business, including a new I.T. system and a move to a purpose built 120,000 ft warehouse just outside of Manchester. With these developments under way, the timing of the deal couldn’t have been better for both WWGB and BIG MAX / ZOOM owners Golftech, as Graeme Stevens, CEO of WWGB explains,

“We’ve known Thomas Reiter, the owner of Golftech for several years and have a huge respect for his business. We knew BIG MAX was European market leader, but it even surprised us to see they had 42% in trolleys and 32% in bags in the DACH territories. To have the opportunity to work together with Thomas and these two huge European brands is a very exciting prospect for us all. As we prepare to move on to the next stage of WWGB’s development, we have the perfect facility to provide Golftech with reliable, responsive distribution, and by aligning our businesses more closely Golftech can help us with opportunities to develop our brands into key markets worldwide.”

As part of the deal Golftech has bought a third share in WWGB, a move that will allow both businesses to work together to achieve success for their key brands across new and existing territories. This move is one that Reiter believes will provide instant returns for BIG MAX and ZOOM customers in the U.K & Ireland and will quickly reap rewards for both businesses across the globe.

“The new facilities that WWGB is investing in will bring their services in line with the very best in the business and will be the perfect home for BIG MAX and ZOOM in the U.K. & Ireland.” commented Reiter. “I was very impressed by the ambition that Graeme has for WWGB and their portfolio of products and I think that by combining our expertise there are no limits to what we can achieve across the global golf market. It’s a very exciting time to be involved with Golftech and WWGB.”

The deal between WWGB and Golftech was officially signed on 30th March, but there will be a smooth transition period between the businesses before WWGB moves into its new premises in early June. In the mean time, any existing customer enquiries for BIG MAX and ZOOM should be directed to office@golftech.eu or 01204 383949.
