Worldwide Golf Brands appoints Grahame Laird to grow retail presence in Scotland

Leading golf distribution company Worldwide Golf Brands (WWGB) is delighted to announce that it has appointed respected area sales manager Grahame Laird to its sales team. Grahame joins WWGB after nine successful years at Lynx Golf, taking on the Scottish sales territory for Oscar Jacobson, Stuburt and MacGregor Golf; a move that brings his 40 year career full circle.

“I first worked with MacGregor across the 1980’s when many of the best players in the world were using the clubs. So to find myself back with the brand, and to see the quality of the latest products 40 years later, is incredibly exciting for me moving forward,” commented Grahame. “But MacGregor was a small part of my decision to join WWGB. When I met Graeme Stevens (WWGB M.D.) and Steve Grant (WWGB Sales Manager) their enthusiasm for the business was infectious and when they showed me the quality of Oscar Jacobson, Stuburt and MacGregor I was blown away.”

Grahame’s golf industry career includes successful periods with MacGregor, Lynx and Callaway Golf where he played a key role in developing the Scottish retail market for Odyssey, Callaway golf balls and Callaway golf clubs. With experience across various categories and brands, Grahame believes that there have been some constant factors that have led to his success. He continues, “I enjoy making personal connections with customers and retailers in the golf market. The relationships I’ve built through my career have made this a fantastic business to be in and I can’t wait to show the quality of Oscar Jacobson, Stuburt and MacGregor, to all the contacts I’ve made over the years, and to get out on the road making new contacts with these three fantastic brands.”
