Winning weekend for Team Callaway with European and PGA Tour victories

It was a winning weekend for Team Callaway, with Staffers Danny Willett and Sam Burns both securing victories on the European Tour and PGA Tour, respectively.

Danny became the first man in 17 years to win a European Tour title on his birthday as he cruised to his eighth European Tour title with a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey products.

The Englishman, who now moves back into the World Top 100 with a -18 victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland, relied on a host of Callaway products, including a Chrome Soft X LS Golf Ball, and a quartet of personalised Mack Daddy 5 JAWS Wedges.

After shooting four rounds in the 60s – 67 (Carnoustie); 69 (Kingsbarns); 66 and 68 (St Andrews’ Old Course), Danny said: “To win here, to be British and to be able to win on British soil, to win at the Home of Golf, this is a very special one. It’s magical. It has been a great week.”

His first prize of €676,338 takes his career earnings past €17m, and highlights how the Sheffield-born golfer always raises his game at golf’s biggest tournaments, with previous wins including the BMW PGA Championship, DP World Tour Championship, The Masters, Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Omega European Masters.

Odyssey Putters also continued their week-on-week dominance on the European Tour with Danny, and more than 50% of the field, relying on the brand during the tournament.

The recently introduced White Hot OG Putter was the #1 model in play, and Odyssey continues to be the #1 Putter on EVERY major Tour worldwide.

On the PGA Tour, Sam shot a 5-under par final round to finish the Sanderson Farms Championship on 22-under par and earn a one-shot victory.

It was Sam’s second PGA Tour title, after claiming his first at the Valspar Championship back in May.

With a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey equipment in play, Sam made four birdies in a six-hole stretch on the back nine to take the lead in Mississippi.

Sam’s performance from the tee played a crucial role in his victory, with the 25-year-old saying: “I switched to the new Callaway Epic Speed a few months ago, and it has really been a game-changer for me. As well as I drove it this week, it set me up for a lot of the second shots. It was huge having that in the bag this week.”

As well as taking home the prize of $1.26 million, Sam also moved inside the top 20 of the World Rankings.
