Volvo China Open moves to Tomson GC

Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club in Shanghai has been confirmed as the venue for the 2015 Volvo China Open, to be played for the twenty-first time from 23 to 26 April. In keeping with the ‘open’ principle of sharing the championship with venues right across China, this will be the first time that the tournament has been staged at the famous Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club.

The prize fund is RMB 20 million, (approximately $3.2 million). The tournament is organised by the China Golf Association with Volvo as co-organisers and promoter, and is co-sanctioned by the European Tour and One Asia.

The exclusive Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club opened back in 1997, and the course has already served as the host for the Asian Open (2004 to 2008) as well as several important China PGA events. The par-72 championship course was designed by Shunsuke Kato, chairman of the Japan Golf Association.
