VEGA LAUNCHES NEW MERAK GOLD PUTTER RANGE

Professional Golf Europe Ltd (PGE), owners of Japanese club-makers, VEGA, has added six new gold putters to its Merak range, which form part of the premium brand’s Star line collection.

The new Merak Gold putters use the same one-piece forged aluminium brass material as VEGA’s popular Alcor gold wedges and are designed to deliver the soft and consistent feel that golfers demand with their scoring clubs.

The Merak range was previously comprised of seven different models in a black finish – although the new additions are not simply the same putters with a gold finish. The gold material runs right through the putter’s head and has been designed to darken over time – rather than simply wear off.

Each model features the distinctive Star line gold and silver engraving to the duel-mill putter face and have two interchangeable weights on the sole (5g, 10g or 15g each), which offer golfers full customisation in terms of total weight and balance.

Peter Lord, director of PGE, said: “Our new range of Merak Gold putters in our Star Line deliver striking looks and incredibly soft feel on the greens, and the Anser-style models and mid-size mallets will suit both accomplished players wanting more feel from their strikes or less confident golfers who require more forgiveness.”

The VEGA Merak Gold putter range is comprised of the following models

VEGA Merak Gold LB Centre Putter – a large anser style body with centre shaft

VEGA Merak Gold LB Heel Putter – a large anser style body with heel shaft

VEGA Merak Gold MM Centre Putter – a mid-size mallet with emphasised heel and toe weighting

VEGA Merak Gold SM Centre Putter – a smaller mallet style putter with centre shaft

The VEGA Merak Gold putters have an RRP of £399.00 and come fitted with a black leather putter grip.

The new putters come off the back of the launch earlier this year of VEGA’s Mizar and Mizar Pro irons – which head up the brand’s Star Line.

To complement the Mizar irons, VEGA has added the Mizar Max driving iron to the line-up, the fastest club in the family and the only driving iron on the market currently with a titanium face for increased ball speeds. With a squat heel-to-toe profile, it features a wide sole with leading edge and trailing edge relief.
