Trilby Tour success for Direct Golf

Direct Golf UK has  proclaimed their sponsorship of The Trilby Tour a success.

As an official sponsor for all the 2013 events, Direct Golf UK provided caps and bags to every competitor and caddy, as well as on-course branding for the golf events due to be televised on Sky Sports Sky later in the year.

“We were delighted with the response we had from both the competitors and spectators to our involvement in the Trilby Tour. We’re looking forward to seeing the TV coverage on Sky Sports shortly” commented Simon Corp, Direct Golf UK’s Marketing Manager.

Randall Daniels, DGUK’s coordinator at the events added: “The hours were long, but William Hunt, his dedicated team, the players, caddies, venue staff and supporters made this whole competition very enjoyable and rewarding by capturing so much goodwill towards DGUK across all the regional finals.”

The multi-channel golf retailer, which boasts 21 retail sites across the UK plus an award-winning website and mail order business, had a presence the on the practice range of each event and in the tented village, including a long drive competition. As one of largest employers of PGA Professionals in Europe, Direct Golf also made sure they had PGA  on-hand at each event to offer advice, provide full equipment support and custom-fitting for all competitors.

The prestigious amateur golf tournament, now in its 7th year, hosted a series of Regional Championships across the UK to find the Amateur Champion 2013 and Direct Golf were present at all nine events.

The Grand Final took place at the five star Championship Course at Rockliffe Hall, Durham on 28 August 2013 and the winner will be revealed in the Grand Final show.  Each Regional Championship is set to be broadcast on Sky Sports as part of the Trilby Tour series. With annual viewership figures of over 2.5 million (since 2011) the Trilby Tour is officially the largest Amateur golf television series in the UK and Europe.
