Tour winners both sides of the pond for Titleist and FootJoy

There were wins on Sunday, 6 March for Matt Jones (pictured) on the PGA Tour at the Shell Houston Open and for Marco Crespi at the NH Collection Open played at La Reserva de Sotogrande Cub de Golf in Spain. Both were first time tour winners and Jones’ win earned him a spot in the US Masters.

Jones played the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball and wore FootJoy Icon golf shoes and a SciFlex golf glove for his dramatic victory. After bogeying the seventeenth hole, his approach to the eighteenth just held the green and he bombed a 46-foot putt for birdie to force a play-off with Matt Kucher. On the first extra hole Jones again birdied the eighteenth, pitching in from 42 yards to win over $1million in prize money and a debut at Augusta National. As a Titleist brand ambassador Matt Jones used Titleist equipment including a 913D2 driver, 910F fairway metal, MB irons, Vokey Design Spin Milled sand and lob wedges, as well as a Scotty Cameron putter.

On the European Tour, Crespi closed with a 3-under par 69 to finish with a 278 victory total, two shots clear of the nearest competitors. The winner’s cheque of €100,000 propels the 35-year-old Italian into the top 50 for the Race to Dubai for the first time, having only previously competed in 25 European Tour events. Crespi played the Titleist Pro V1x ball and wore FooJoy DryJoys Casual golf shoes and a StaSof golf glove.
