The Aspiration Group Promotes Craig Boland to Head of Golf

The Aspiration Group, based in Tamworth, Staffordshire, has promoted Craig Boland to Head of Golf. Craig qualified as a PGA Golf Professional in 2009 and started his career at Ombersley Golf Club, before moving to Edgbaston Golf Club in 2010 where he was responsible for growing and developing the membership whilst building a great reputation as a golf coach.

In 2016 Craig joined The Aspiration Group and quickly settled in to the new role. He was instrumental in developing new accompanied golf coaching trips and organised, hosted and fully delivered major international golf events – the largest of which being for a 250-golfer event taking place over 4 days.

Along with The Aspiration Group Travel, which is both ABTA bonded and ATOL protected, The Aspiration Group is able to create personalised trips designed to meet specific requirements, combining travel, golf coaching, hospitality and branded merchandise as required.

Having professional accreditation for the travel elements of the business in the form of ABTA and ATOL and in the Golf areas of the business through the golf team being fellows or members of the Professional Golfers Association, The Aspiration Group was also awarded AIM accreditation which comes with membership: the only recognised accreditation scheme for the events and meetings industry. It is a real assurance for customers that The Aspiration Group can handle so many elements of their business.

Chief Executive of The Aspiration Group, Amanda Macchi said, “We believe in investing in our employees. Every team member is paid above the minimum living wage and this year we have introduced private health care and every member of staff received an above inflationary pay raise. We have a policy of developing and promoting staff from within and we were delighted to offer Craig the position of Head of Golf. We are sure that under Craig’s leadership the golf team will continue to grow from strength to strength.”

Craig said, “It’s a very exciting time for the golf team, with the evolution of golf and the changing requirements of our customers, we’re developing and updating our product offering. Not only have we invested in the very latest golf technology in TrackMan 4, we have developed a programme for online and self-service registration and we already offer live scoring and a personalised web-based site for each event. We’ve even created a portable golf simulator and putting competition that we can take to any event or dinner as well as the ability to run a silent auction using mobile devices.”
