Team YGT Invitational PRO-AM Tournament a huge success

15 teams contested the inaugural Team YGT Invitational Pro-Am over 54-holes at Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat Beach Golf Clubs. The event, which ran from the 3rd and 6th November, saw Guy Woodman of East Berkshire GC win the individual title and his team take away the collective honours too.

Woodman finished on an impressive total of five-under par with rounds 69, 73 and a final day 69 at Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club to win the individual professional event and the £2,000 first prize in the Team YGT Invitational Pro-Am. Woodman’s team also came out on top and their prize is another trip to Abu Dhabi; staying at the impressive Southern Sun Hotel and enjoying more golf at some of the region’s finest courses.

“I had an amazing week. I can’t recommend the Team YGT Pro-Am enough. Anyone who’s thinking about playing a Pro-Am abroad should look no further,” said tournament winner Guy Woodman. “The venue and level of service provided was second to none.”

With a purse of £7,500 for the professional entrants, plus tremendous prizes on offer from Skechers, Bushnell and Mizuno, together with four nights’ accommodation in Abu Dhabi’s luxurious, downtown Southern Sun Hotel, the Team YGT Invitational Pro-Am proved hugely popular with all the participants.

“A huge thank you to everybody who helped with this event,” said Alex Brown, Head Pro at North Foreland GC, “It was truly something special to be a part of.”

Ben Kerr, Head Pro at Royal Worlington and Newmarket GC and a member of Team YGT was equally impressed.

Next year’s Team YGT Invitational Pro-Am will take place in October with venues and dates to be announced soon.
