TaylorMade says it led the way at the recent US PGA Championship claiming top spot for drivers with over 35 percent of the field playing TaylorMade, and the SLDR Driver as first in the model count. TaylorMade aslo claims success at the this year’s Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship at Blairgowrie, with TaylorMade again the top driver brand and the SLDR driver the leading model used by 28 players, over 19 percent of the total field.
This adds to an already successful 12 months for SLDR, with 19 Tour wins and an extensive list of awards for the products’ performance. The SDLR driver is designed to help a player hit longer, straighter drives by promoting a high launch angle, lower spin-rate (due to the low, forward centre of gravity) and faster ball speed. TaylorMade says players of all abilities are seeing the benefits of ‘lofting up’ to achieve greater control, more consistency and significant distance gains.
Greg Pearse, marketing director EMEA stated, “In a strong fought field of PGA professionals, we are hugely proud to see that PGA pros are reaping the benefits of ‘lofting up’ with the low and forward centre of gravity in the SLDR driver. To become the number-one driver brand, including the number-one model played with SLDR at the PGA Professional Championship is a fantastic achievement. In addition to the PGA Pros, we are also excited to see that amateur golfers of all abilities have embraced more loft with SLDR and are enjoying the performance benefits.”
