SPORTS IMPACT CLIENTS WIN BIG WITH GOLF MEDIA AWARDS

Specialist PR and marketing agency Sports Impact has seen its clients sweep up no fewer than 29 Editor’s Choice awards this month from two of Europe’s most influential golf publications – Golf Monthly and Today’s Golfer.

With a combined reach of around four million golfers each month, the respective Editor’s Choice award supplements highlight the best and most innovative golf products in 2021.

Eight brands represented by Sports Impact featured across the two widely read publications, with a variety of new products acclaimed from Arccos, Duca del Cosma, Galvin Green, HONMA, KBS, Motocaddy, Sun Mountain and Wilson Staff.

“This represents a record year for our clients, as they each gained special recognition from the leading media publications who get to trial every product launched on the market this season,” said Sports Impact CEO John Collard. “It reflects the drive to introduce game-changing products that sets them apart in the industry and helps golfers enjoy the sport more,” he added.

Motocaddy, the world’s leading electric trolley brand, took home nine awards across multiple categories – dominating both the trolley and bag sectors, while also featuring among the best laser rangefinder brands for the first time. Today’s Golfer commended both the M5 GPS with cellular data and the M3 GPS with awards, while the M3 GPS and luxury M-TECH model gained Golf Monthly awards. In the push trolley category, the simple-to-fold CUBE was described by Today’s Golfer as the ‘King of compacts’, making it a suitable model if space is an issue.

The Motocaddy HydroFLEX stand and best-selling Dry Series cart bag were recognised by Today’s Golfer, while the all-new PROTEKTA cart bag received its first media award from Golf Monthly. In the competitive laser rangefinder market, the popular PRO-3000 picked up Editor’s Choice awards from both magazines.

Breaking tradition, Today’s Golfer selected the entire ‘GameDay’ collection from Galvin Green for an Apparel award, rather than a single garment. The collection featured a host of sustainably made products, including ten waterproof GORE-TEX jackets and three matching trouser options. The top-of-the-range ACTION waterproof jacket was credited by Golf Monthly in its apparel category. Made from GORE-TEX ‘slide & glide’ C-KNIT™ fabric, it offers greater freedom of movement in the swing thanks to Superstretch inserts across the back and elbows.

Premium Japanese brand HONMA saw its T//WORLD GS (Gain Speed) range ‘come up trumps across the board’ for irons and woods in the Today’s Golfer Editor’s Choice awards. The GS Fairway Wood ranked first in class for consistent carry distance from off-centre hits, while the GS Driver and Irons were praised for the forgiveness and speed on offer. In the Player’s Distance Irons category, the TR20 P model was described as ‘the latest in a long line of lovely forged irons.’ From the TR21 range, the BIG-LB Fairway Wood was also highlighted by Golf Monthly.

Wilson Golf gained recognition with both the D9 and Staff Model CB irons credited by each title. The D9 irons represent the technological advancements made by the brand to provide distance and feel combined with the look of a player’s iron, while the Staff Model CB is heralded for its ability to protect ball speed and carry distance compared to its competition. The Wilson Staff Duo Soft+ golf ball with Velociticor technology was also acclaimed by Today’s Golfer.

Arccos, the pioneer of big data and artificial intelligence in golf, offers ‘Tour-level analytics’ helping golfers drop their handicap by an average of five strokes within the first year. The wearable LINK device seamlessly tracks data without the need for a phone in the user’s pocket, winning it awards from both Golf Monthly and Today’s Golfer.

Designed with 100% Italian Nappa leather the Duca del Cosma Elpaso claimed a Golf Monthly selection for its traditional looks combined with an innovative ARNEFLEX® insert sole for superior comfort. The stylish Eldorado, described by Today’s Golfer as ‘a joy to wear’, also picked up a coveted Editor’s Choice award.

Made entirely from recycled plastic water bottles, the Sun Mountain Eco-Lite cart and stand bags were recognised by Today’s Golfer for eco-conscious design and performance. With an ergonomic 14-way top and integrated putter well, both bags set the standard for what is achievable with recycled materials. The new H2NO Lite Speed stand bagweighing just 2kg with an adjustable Dual Strap System for guaranteed comfort – was also selected by Golf Monthly.

The revolutionary ONE STEP putter shaft from KBS was also picked for an award by Golf Monthly. The all-new offering is designed to create a smooth and stable putting stroke on a more consistent basis to give every golfer more confidence on the greens.
