SHINKWIN AND CALLAWAY CRUISE TO VICTORY IN WALES

A full bag of Callaway and Odyssey products powered Staff Professional Callum Shinkwin to his second DP World Tour title at the 2022 Cazoo Open in Wales.

Callum put on a sublime final day performance on his way to a four-shot victory. His final 18 holes included six birdies and at one point he was six shots clear of his nearest rival, before claiming the title and the €297,500 winner’s cheque.

Immediately after winning, an emotional Callum, who moves to 28th in the DP World Tour rankings, said: “I’m so over the moon. I played great today. My nan sadly passed away three weeks ago and to have my mum here to watch this is huge for me.”

The 29-year old Englishman’s winning bag included the Rogue ST LS Driver and Fairway Woods, the new JAWS Raw Wedges, Chrome Soft X Golf Ball and Odyssey Toulon Putter.

The Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS Driver is a low spin option for better players and is the latest evolution of Callaway’s Tour-proven Triple Diamond heads. It’s the lowest spinning Rogue ST Driver model, with a neutral-to-fade bias in a compact 450cc head.

Rogue ST LS Fairway Woods feature a deeper face with a compact footprint especially suited for better players. The 28g Tungsten Speed Cartridge and forward weight screw push the CG forward for low spin, while the shape and face profile make this Callaway’s most fade-capable fairway wood.

JAWS Raw Wedges feature the most aggressive grooves in golf, with a raw face that promotes maximum spin. For the first time ever, Callaway has brought tungsten technology to a wedge, for a weight balanced club that offers both feel and control.

Callum’s Chrome Soft X Golf Ball features new, proprietary Precision Technology, and is faster off the driver with a spin profile that is optimised for Tour pros and better players.

Finally, Callaway MB ’21 Irons and an Odyssey Toulon Madison Putter completed Callum’s winning equipment. Odyssey remains the #1 Putter on Tour and has incredibly been the #1 brand for the last 50 Majors.

Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway EMEA, concluded: “Our products are proving to be decisive for our team of Staff Professionals as they continue to claim key Tour titles around the globe. Congratulations go to Callum, who dominated this DP World Tour event and made the difficult task of winning an important tournament, look very easy.”
