Seal seals the deal with TGI for Catmandoo

The Seal Golf Partnership, UK and ROI distributors for the Finnish Catmandoo apparel brand has announced an agreement with the TGI Golf Partnership for 2016. The agreement represents a career landmark for Seal Golf Partner, Peter Seal (pictured) after working for 35 years on the other side of the counter as PGA club professional.

Commenting Seal said, “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by the board at TGI and to be able to offer the Catmandoo brand to my fellow PGA members and retailers for 2016. Back in 2010, when we first started working with the Finns, we had a goal to be an approved supplier within five years, and we have done that.

“After discovering the brand whilst on a coaching trip to Portugal we could see that the opportunity to develop the ladies lifestyle collection for the UK trade market was too good an opportunity to miss, given that Seal Golf had a strong background in ladies retail and knew what the end user was looking for in ladies wear. On the back of strong ladies summer sales we launched a men’s and women’s autumn collection in 2012, with the men’s sales now accounting for about 40 percent of our winter business.”

The Seal Golf Partnership now has an exclusive Catmandoo men’s summer collection for the UK and Ireland as worn by eight time winner on the European Senior Tour and former TGI Golf Partner, Paul Wesselingh. The Seal Golf Partnership considers the time is right to move to the next level with a pro-centric partnership approach after looking at more effective ways the industry could be working together.

Seal stated, “It’s to our mutual benefit to be working in sync with TGI Partners and other retailers especially in a crowded apparel market right now. Our proposal is not only about the great products and good margin retailers can make, it’s also about showing we understand some of the real issues currently facing the club professional and that we feel we can make a difference with our pro bonus features. I know that if I were still in retail at a club today, I would be looking to support a brand who could offer me some genuine partnership trading advantages where its more about give and take and not just take!”

Pro bonus features include carrying forward styles at the core of each season collection to maintain gross margin and reduce the need to clear stock. A road show sales event to introduce the brand providing an opportunity to earn up to £500 at retail of free stock, without commitment. The ability to take a year out to balance stock levels with loyal customers able to take two seasons stock on sale or return, subject to terms.

Seal Golf Partnership will be exhibiting at the Golf Trade Show on stand B9. More at: www.catmandoo.co.uk
