Real-time wearable shot tracker for smartphone platforms launched

GAME GOLF have announced the launch of GAME GOLF LIVE, the industry’s first wearable, real-time shot tracker for both iOS and Android smartphone platforms.

The launch of GAME GOLF LIVE follows the original GAME GOLF Classic product, which was first launched in the UK in 2014. GAME GOLF Classic was the first wearable device and integrated a software platform which tracked and captured real performance data and displayed players’ rounds in a dynamic and socially driven interface. It is also the only wearable technology product that collects valuable data and statistics that is “Permitted Under the Rules of Golf” by the R&A and USGA*.

The next-generation of the GAME GOLF product line, GAME GOLF LIVE will similarly help golfers to connect to their game, PGA Professionals and their friends. LIVE will function through the same user interface as GAME GOLF Classic – a small, lightweight device is worn on the player’s waist and individual, feather-light sensor tags are attached to the top of the grip on each club to seamlessly capture player data.

Using GPS, motion sensors and near-field communication technology, the tags pair with the waist-worn device and the unit automatically records the course, location on the hole, club used, distance, and accuracy without interrupting the flow of the game. GAME GOLF LIVE records performance data in real-time, with the data from every shot instantly displayed on your iOS or Android phone.

GAME GOLF LIVE incorporates a number of enhanced features. New Strokes Gained data offers robust metrics off the tee, on approach shots, during the short game and for putting. This will give golfers a detailed way to analyse their game and to develop data-driven practice sessions, either on the range or with a coach. The mapping system has also been upgraded to feature Google Maps, Apple Maps and BING Maps and includes a powerful course rangefinder.
