Rafael Campos seals 33rd PGA Tour win of the season for Titleist golf balls

Battling difficult conditions and high winds,  Rafael Campos  exhibited total control of his  Pro V1 golf ball on Sunday in Bermuda, hitting a field-best 86 percent of fairways and 83 percent GIR (T2) to close out his first PGA TOUR victory by three shots.

Campos carded rounds of 70-65-62-68, making 21 birdies and two eagles to post 19 under. His 12-under weekend was highlighted by a bogey-free 62 in Round 3. For the week at Port Royal, he led the field in Scrambling, getting up-and-down 20 times out of 24 (83%).

Campos was one of 88 (73%) Titleist golf ball players in Bermuda, more than seven times the nearest competitor (12/10%).

It also marks the 33rd victory for Titleist golf ball players this season (70%), more than six times the nearest competitor with five.

RAFA CAMPOS ON HIS PRO V1:

“I’m a Pro V1 guy. I love how soft it is around the green, especially chipping and hitting wedges. I can actually feel the ball kind of compress against the club.”

“I love the fact it spins less (than Pro V1x), so it’s a little lower ball flight, especially when it’s windy. I can keep that ball a little bit down. “

“I like to see lower shots. The Pro V1, its ball flight’s a little bit lower (than Pro V1x), so that’s really nice and appealing for my eyes.”

“When I’m playing with buddies, I’ve literally hit every brand and it is unbelievable how different every ball feels. And there’s no doubts for me. I know my Pro V1 will react and feel the exact same way all the time. I’m just not changing it.”

On the first time he played a Titleist golf ball

“I remember I was 11 years old and it was a Professional 90, and I loved those. I actually have in my house a sleeve of Tour Balatas and a sleeve of Professional 100s. And to this day, I still get ‘em and chip around because I love to see spin. It’s pretty cool how it’s evolved throughout the years and it’s unbelievable to see how much better it’s actually gotten and how much more consistent it’s actually gotten. And like I said, we have a lot of variety now, and so it’s pretty cool to have different models to fit the needs of the person.”

BUTTERFIELD BERMUDA CHAMP WINS WITH NEW GT DRIVER, 14 TITLEIST CLUBS

The winner of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship won his first career PGA TOUR trophy with an all-Titleist setup that includes his  NEW GT2 driver and fairway metal.

It marked the third win for GT drivers in the last seven events on the PGA TOUR, following wins by  Patton Kizzire  (ProCore Championship) and  J.T. Poston (Shriners Children’s Open), both with GT3.

Titleist has been the most played driver on the PGA TOUR for six seasons and counting – and it was no different this week in Bermuda, where 44 players (37%) gamed a Titleist driver, compared to 27 for the nearest competitor.

All 14 clubs in his bag were Titleist, including a blended set of irons that consisted of his  U•505 2-iron, T150 4-5 irons  and  620 MB 6-9 irons.

He used his  U•505 2-iron to set up an eagle on Port Royal’s par-5 seventh hole, hitting his 256-yard second shot to 3 feet. And it was his T150 4-iron that fought the wind and safely found the green at the treacherous 235-yard par-3 16th.

The champ also carried four Vokey SM10 wedges, including a  54.12D sand wedge and 60.10 S grind lob wedge that helped him lead the field in Scrambling, getting up-and-down at an 83% clip (20 of 24 attempts).

With his  Scotty Cameron putter, he ranked T7 in Putts per GIR (1.67), rolling in 21 birdies and two eagles for the week.

DP WORLD TOUR | DP World Tour Championship

The DP World Tour Championship and Race to Dubai winner brought his  Vokey Design SM10 WedgeWorks K* lob wedge to the winner’s circle for the third time this year. The champion added the 58K* (@ 59) to the bag at the RBC Heritage in April and went on to win two of his next three PGA TOUR starts (Zurich Classic, Wells Fargo Championship). The model has not left his bag since.

The Vokey K* lob wedge recently launched on WedgeWorks for the first time. Like all Vokey Design grinds, K* is a product of the collaboration between Master Craftsman Bob Vokey, Vokey Tour Representative Aaron Dill and the best players in the world. The K* Grind originated from player requests to modify the sole of the popular Low Bounce K Grind lob wedge. Instead of the full, smooth sole of the K Grind, the sole of the K* Grind features a steeper pre-wear on the leading edge along with heel, toe and trailing edge relief.

The steeper pre-wear on K* adds forgiveness from the square-faced position, with a narrow ribbon of added bounce along the leading edge helping to resist excessive digging. In an open-faced position, the heel, toe and trailing edge relief on K* allows the leading edge to sit closer to the ground, adding greenside versatility by helping the player slide under the ball easier. And like all K Grind variations, K* has a wide sole that excels out of the bunker.

Performance across a variety of playing positions and turf conditions is one reason why K* is in the bags of players such as  Justin Thomas, Cameron Young  and  Ludvig Åberg, as well as the 2025 DP World Tour Championship and Race to Dubai champion.
